About Fairbanks Dog Sledding Tours

What Travelers Say

5/5 from 192 verified GetYourGuide travelers

"I really enjoyed getting to cuddle the dogs. The sled ride was so cool. Guides were amazing."

Paige New Zealand

"We had an amazing dog sledding experience with First Alaska Tours. A special thanks to our driver and guide Paul, who was very professional, friendly, and made everything smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. The dog sledding itself was truly unforgettable. Our musher Ash and his dog Toby were fantastic — it was exciting, authentic, and a unique way to experience Alaska. This is something you should try at least once in your life, especially in winter. You can really feel the tradition and passion behind it. Highly recommended!"

"Daniel was our driver, and did a GREAT job telling us all about Fairbanks, and overviewing our dog-sled ride, including how the dogs were trained and how he trained to be a musher! Ash was our musher and the lead musher - he gave us a great safety and overview briefing on the overall operation and how special the mushing dogs are. Then, on the trail, he stopped numerous times to take great photos and videos of us with the dogs. I would recommend 1st Alaska Tours and this trip HIGHLY, and especially Daniel and Ash-thank you both!"

"Ash is the man! I got there a little early and he treated me to some amazing stories and pictures and just a really good guy who genuinely loves what he does. He is koolest dude and just wants you to have an awesome time. He went out of his way to take pics for me and the couple I was with and explained things all along the ride as we soaked up the scenery and experience. He offers extra cold weather gear if you want, I personally had everything but a beanie which he suggested but left up to me. I took his word for it and thankful I did. He provides a blanket too for the sledding portion and took our phones and did some amazing videos for us at different stops. One of my other favorite parts was him letting us meet and greet all the amazing pups!!! They are all so friendly and happy and excited! Some jump ontop their little houses and wait patiently for you to come pet and hug them! These are professional dogs too as they do races! Thank you Ash, Diego, Zap, Batman, and all the puppers"
